Reach locals, Your brand recognized – Your spot on Gold Country Radio

If you’re a small business owner in the Klamath Basin, we already have something in common: we care about this community — and we believe in doing things the right way. I’m reaching out from Gold Country Radio, a non-profit, grassroots station dedicated to keeping real country music and real community values alive and well in Klamath County.

Who We Are

Gold Country Radio is the Basin’s only non-profit classic country station, and the only one dedicated exclusively to country music from 1944–2005 — especially the heartfelt, genuine songs of the 1980s and 90s.

Our listeners are:

  • Adults 35 and older
  • 60% women, 40% men
  • Passionate about “real country” — the kind that tells stories, stirs memories, and brings people together

We broadcast from Klamath Falls and Altamont, with our signal reaching out to surrounding communities including Merrill, Keno, Chiloquin, and even out toward the Lake of the Woods turnoff.

Radio listening is hard to track precisely — unlike digital platforms, radios don’t send back data. But based on listener engagement, call-ins, web traffic, and community interaction, we estimate about 10,000 monthly listeners. Our Average Quarter Hour (AQH) sits at approximately 190, reflecting real-time listenership across the day.

What really sets us apart? When classic country fans find us, they stick with us. We’re the only station in Klamath Falls playing the country music they love, and our format loyalty builds listener loyalty. Our audience doesn’t “scan the dial” — they tune in and stay. For our business partners, that means your message is consistently reaching a highly focused and devoted audience.

What Sets Us Apart

We’re more than just music — we’re community radio at its finest. Every weekday from 6 AM to 9 PM, our airwaves are filled with engaging shows hosted by dedicated volunteer DJs who care deeply about the music, the listeners, and the community. These DJs bring energy, personality, and genuine local flavor to everything they do.

On the weekends, we showcase our volunteer-led community programming — unique shows created by passionate locals covering fishing, outdoor life, personal journeys, and more. These include:

  • Terrible at Fishing with local angler Michael Ruffino
  • Make it Out Alive Broadcast with Chiloquin resident Sam Wilson
  • The Life Outdoorz – Hunting Southern Oregon with hunter and ministry worker Nate Bailey
  • …and more, all created by locals for locals

What also makes us different is how accessible and truly local we are. Unlike big corporate-owned stations where decisions are made by people who’ve never set foot in Klamath Falls, we live here, shop here, raise families here, and care about what happens here.

We’re proud to be a mom-and-pop operation working with mom-and-pop businesses, united by a shared commitment to our mutual success. When you partner with us, you’re not just buying airtime — you’re joining a team that’s invested in seeing your business thrive.

And that personal touch? It’s real. As a partner, you’ll get the station manager’s personal phone number — no phone trees, no hold music, no corporate runaround. Just real conversations with real people who value your time, your story, and your trust.

We are a family-friendly station rooted in strong Christian values, with deep ties to the recovery community. That’s why we don’t promote alcohol — not because we’re anti-business, but because we’ve seen firsthand how substance abuse affects our town. We believe in promoting wellness, hope, and positivity.

Balanced, Local, and Trustworthy

In a time when media is increasingly polarized, we choose a different path. Our news and public affairs content is designed to help people think for themselves — not tell them what to think.

We don’t take sides in divisive politics. Instead, we focus on what brings people together: strong local stories, honest conversation, shared values, and great music.

Your Message, Amplified

When you become a business partner with Gold Country Radio, you’re doing more than promoting your brand — you’re aligning with a station that reflects the best of our community.

You’ll be:

  • Heard on-air by a loyal, engaged local audience
  • Featured on our website: goldcountryradio.org
  • Promoted through social media, where we share community wins, good news, and local business spotlights

And as a non-profit station, your contribution is 100% tax-deductible.

Flexible & Affordable Packages

We understand that every business is different — and that’s exactly who we’re here for. From the smallest mom-and-pop shops to larger local companies in Klamath County, we offer a range of customizable underwriting packages to meet a wide spectrum of needs and budgets.

In fact, it’s often cheaper to be a business partner on Gold Country Radio than your daily coffee habit.

Our pricing is based on a “dollar-a-hollar” model, with spot rates ranging from 97¢ to $1.44. The cost depends on:

  • The number of spots (the more you buy, the lower the rate)
  • The time of day your message airs
  • Whether your business is connected to high-demand or featured content

Becoming a business partner is a commitment — not just to your brand, but to the local community we’re building together. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to expand your footprint, we’ll help you find a package that makes sense for your goals, your values, and your business.

Why Radio Works

Radio is one of the most trusted and time-tested advertising platforms — especially in smaller communities like ours. It offers a unique blend of reach, relatability, and results that other mediums often miss.

Here’s why radio still works — and why it might be the right choice for your business:

Radio is Personal
People listen in their cars, at work, and in their homes. It’s part of their daily routine — and your message becomes a natural, trusted voice in that routine.

Radio is Local
We’re speaking directly to your neighbors. With Gold Country Radio, you’re not just running an ad — you’re joining a community conversation.

Top-of-Mind Awareness
Radio delivers frequency. When your message is heard multiple times a day, you stay top-of-mind when listeners are ready to buy, book, or refer.

Cost-Effective Reach
Compared to TV, print, or online campaigns, radio gives you more exposure for less money, especially with our added digital promotion.

No Ad Blockers, No Skipping
Your message is heard. Listeners can’t scroll past a radio ad or block it like a digital popup.

Radio Builds Trust
Our station is built on values — and our listeners trust what they hear. That trust extends to the business partners we feature.

Let’s Connect

If you’re ready to tell your story, support your neighbors, and be part of something positive, we’d love to work with you.

Because at Gold Country Radio, we believe in true partnership — and when you succeed, we succeed.
