2025 Klamath Graduating Seniors Scholarship Guide

 

Graduating seniors in Klamath County, it’s time to start applying for college and scholarships! The process of securing financial aid can be competitive, so early applications are highly encouraged. Below is a  guide to scholarships available for 2025, including eligibility requirements, deadlines, and application details.

The Cost of College in Oregon

Understanding the cost of higher education can help you plan effectively. Here’s a general breakdown of average annual tuition costs in Oregon:

  • Community Colleges: $5,650
  • Public State Universities (Resident Tuition): $13,403
  • Private Colleges/Universities: $38,421

These costs do not include room, board, or other expenses. Scholarships can significantly reduce the financial burden, so be sure to apply early and often!

Local Scholarships

  • Klamath Falls Police Beneficiary Association Scholarship
    • Award Amount: $1,000 (2 available)
    • Eligibility Criteria:
      • High school senior preparing to enter an accredited institution
      • Minimum GPA of 3.0
      • Application essay
      • Letter of interest and/or resume
      • Two letters of recommendation
    • Deadline: Friday, April 4, 2025

  •  Glenn Justus Memorial Scholarship Program
    • Description: Open to musically inclined Klamath County high school students graduating this year (or currently enrolled in college or vocational training programs) and current Oregon Tech and Klamath Community College students
    • 2 scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each will be awarded to honor the memory of local music legend, Glenn Justus.

  • Klamath County Recognition Scholarship
    • Offered By: Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech)
    • Eligibility Criteria:
      • Graduating from a Klamath County high school
      • Unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher
      • SAT score of 1050 (Critical Reading and Math) or ACT composite score of 21
      • Accepted for admission to Oregon Tech by March 1, 2025

    • Eligibility: Must be a KCC student

  • Sky Lakes Medical Center Foundation Scholarships

      • James Bocchi Memorial Scholarship: For non-first-year college students in a nursing program, GPA 2.5+
